Launched in both petrol and diesel engine options, the new Hyundai Elite i20 hatchback receives same engine specs as seen on its earlier counterpart which was minus the ‘Elite’ tag. These engines will include a 1.2 liter petrol engine producing peak power of 83 PS and peak torque of 114 Nm while mated to a five speed manual transmission. Its diesel engine will be a 1.4 liter CRDI producing peak power of 90 PS and peak torque of 220 Nm mated to a six speed manual transmission. Mileage claimed by petrol variant is 18.60 kmpl, and that by diesel variant is 22.54 kmpl.
Just like the old i20, which Hyundai says now has over 7.34 lakh customers, the new one too will be offered in same Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta trims. Each of these models will be seen with a host of comfort, safety and infotainment features.
The base Era variant will feature power windows, manual AC, central locking while the Magna will get foldable key, rear parcel shelf and front arm rests. Infotainment will come from a 2 DIN music system with 1 GB internal memory, speakers at the front and rear and AUX-in. USB, steering mounted controls and power windows will also form a part of the onboard features.
The Elite i20 Sportz trim will be seen with driver airbag, ABS, rear parking sensors and electric outside rear view mirrors with chrome. The same variant will also get rear view camera, wing mirrors and rear defogger while interiors will be seen with leather wrapped gear lever and steering wheel, telescopic steering and automatic AC.
Hyundai Elite i20 Sportz (O) sits on alloy wheels and receives clutch lock, smart key and chrome plated door handles while top of the line Asta variant has the longest list of features which also includes front passenger airbag, automatic headlights and rear wiper and washer.
On offer will be seven colours – Red Passion, Pristine Blue, Mystic Blue, Star Dust, Midas Gold, Polar White, and Sleek Silver.
