There’s no denying that 2019 has been a difficult year for automakers, and following much festive fervour, Hyundai India has been able to report its highest cumulative sales of 2019 after 10 long months.
Cumulative sales are reported at 63,610 units, following sales decline of 2.2 percent down from 65,020 units sold in October 2018. Domestic sales are reported at 50,010 units, down 3.8 percent from 52,001 units sold in October 2018. At juts over 50k, this is the highest domestic sales for HMIL in 2019.
Best selling Hyundai car for the month is Elite i20 sales. It registered a total sales of 14,700 units in Oct 2019. Exports are up 4.5 percent at 13,600 units, up from 13,019 units sold in October 2018.
While the slowdown has warranted strategic changes through the year where production is concerned, Hyundai has faired well in this regard owing to its discernable exports contribution. Furthermore, limiting sales decline to a low single digit bodes well in the long run.

Hyundai India has planned a series of new car launches in the coming months. These include new gen Creta, new gen i20, new gen Xcent, Verna facelift etc. All these new cars have been spied on Indian roads. They will come with BS6 engines, petrol as well as diesel. Unlike Maruti, who will not update their diesel cars to BS6; Hyundai has announced that they will update their petrol and diesel cars to BS6 norms.
