Hyundai ix35 arrives in London: Fuel cell, zero emission, and hydrogen powered

Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell SUV is the first hydrogen fuel car and five units of this vehicle will be leased to drivers in London. 1000 numbers of highly energy efficient Hyundai ix35 will be produced between now and 2015. These cars are powered by hydrogen fuel cell and are set to make their way into UK as part of London Hydrogen Network Expansion program. This is being done to project hydrogen as a more viable source of fuel as compared to petrol or diesel.

hyundai ix35 arrives in londonHyundai ix35 is not only highly fuel efficient but is 100% zero emission car, while design is practical and safe. Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell SUV has to capacity to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 12.5 seconds as against 12.4 seconds which is seen on its diesel variant. The driving range is also extended up to 369 miles (593 kms) on a single tank of fuel which can be refilled at hydrogen filling stations. This is then used to generate electricity for its electric motor powering its wheels.

Two such hydrogen filling stations are in existence in London while a third one is soon to be included soon. Three additional stations will be added by 2015 due to which more such fuel cell vehicle are likely to be seen on roads. For more information, scroll through the news release below.
