Hyundai Motors India Limited has recorded their sales figures for February 2013. Total sales stood at 54,665 units during the month as against 51,855 units in the same month of the previous year. The country’s second largest auto manufacturer (HMIL) however saw a decline in domestic sales as sales during the month stood at 34,002 units as against 36,805 units in February 2012.

A fall of 7.62% was recorded though the company made up in sales volume in exports which were up 37.30%. Exports during February 2013 stood at 20,663 units as against 15,050 units in February 2012. Conversion rates, higher fuel prices and a dip in buyer sentiments were all the causes of these lower than expected sales. HMIL now enters the next quarter with optimism specially considering the change in the overall market scenario.

During February 2013, HMIL sold a total of 46,387 units of Eon, Santro, i10 and i20 while total sales of Accent and Verna stood at 7,722 units. Santa Fe SUV sales reached 66 units, Elantra sales totaled 470 units and Sonata sales stood at 20 units during the month.
