After Toyota and Honda, it is Hyundai's turn to repeat the recall saga. Hyundai has declared that there is a fault with the door latch.
According to the available information, Hyundai has recalled 1300 vehicles that were produced in US in the 1st December to 16th February time frame, while also recalling 47000 manufactured in Korea between 3rd September to 6th December this year time frame.
The company officials explained the fault about the front door, that when it is closed in stationary position, the latch is stuck and you cannot close the door. The officials also said that though they had not received any complaints from customers, this recall is a precautionary step to prevent any accident.
Fortunately enough, this recall does not affect the Hyundai Sonata in India. The company officials affirmed that the Indian Sonata is the Transform model while the defective model is the YF model.
In terms of future upgradations of the Indian Sonata, the officials replied that the car is doing as per company expectation and any upgrades will come only in couple of years.
