Hyundai’s new 2014 Santa Fe crossover, featuring ‘Storm Edge’ design philosophy, is offered in two configurations, five-passenger Santa Fe Sport, and seven-passenger variant. After launch, it is will compete with Toyota Fortuner, SsangYong Rexton, Ford Endeavour, and Mitsubishi Pajero.
Unlike the existing Santa Fe, which is being sold as CBU, the new Santa Fe will be assembled at company plant in Chennai. This will make it possible for Hyundai to price the car competitively.
Where engine details are concerned, the new Hyundai Santa Fe will receive a 2.2 liter four cylinder CRDi engine capable of 197 PS power at 3800 rpm and 44.5 kgm torque at 1800-2500 rpm mated to manual / automatic transmissions. Packed with comfort and safety features, the new Santa Fe will sport 12 way adjustable seating and dual zone automatic climate controls. The upcoming model will receive a total of 6 airbags, daytime running lights and 18” diamond cut alloy wheels besides high intensity discharge headlights. (images via)
