As per statistics received, policemen in Dubai are getting stricter by the day. Various fines have been slapped on erring motorists while a number of vehicles have been impounded by the strict and vigilant officials of Dubai police department. In first six months of 2012 these stalwarts of the law have impounded 2,940 cars while 155,084 traffic fines have been imposed.
During January to June 2012, 69,105 motorists were fined for dangerous and negligent driving amounting to accidents, while 25,504 motorists were fined for breaking traffic regulations. These statistics were revealed by Colonel Mohammad Nasser Abdul Razak, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department of Police Affairs. He has instructed his department to be extra vigilant and rope in all traffic offenders thereby leading to a better law and order situation on Dubai streets.
From January to June 2012, 2,940 cars have been seized out of which 1,729 were taken in by way of their number plates being run through the police computer system located in police patrol cars. Besides taking in these errant cars, severe fines have been slapped on offenders by the various police stations under Dubai jurisdiction.
