India CV sales Aug ’14: Tata Motors, Ashok leyland, VECV and Mahindra

Tata M&HCV sales at 9,141 units report 11% growth over August 2014. Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in India for the fiscal was 126,682 units equating to 28% sales decline over last year. Cumulative LCV sales was 80,658 units at 37% decline over last year. M&HCV sales stood at 46,024 units at 7% sales decline over last year.

Ashok Leyland ?August ?2014 M&HCV sales stood at 5830 units over 4939 units sold in Aug’13 equating to 18% sales increase. LCV sales for the month stand at 2501 units over 2200 units sold in Aug ’13 to report 14% sales growth. Overall sales forthe month stood at 8331 units over 7139 units sold in August 2013 to report 17% sales growth.

Ashok Leyland M&HCV cumulative sales through Apr-Aug’14 stand at 26488 units over 26105 units sold in Apr-Aug’13 equating to 1% sales growth. Ashok Leyland LCV cumulative sales through Apr-Aug’14 stand at 9644 units compared to 11504 units sold in Apr-Aug’13 equating to 16% sales decline. Ashok Leyland total cumulative sales through Apr-Aug’14 stand at 36132 units compared to 37609 units sold in Apr-Aug’13 equating to 4% sales decline

Eicher trucks and buses reports 3027 units sold in August 2014. Compared to 3207 units sold in Aug 2013, it equates to 5.6% sales decline. In the domestic CV Market (5T and Above), Eicher trucks and buses reports 2571 units sold. When compared to 2757 units sold in Aug 2013, it equates to 6.7% sales decline. Eicher Trucks and Buses exports for the month stand at 456 units over 450 units in Aug 2013 to report 1.3% sales growth.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) retains its leadership position in the Indian tractor industry through August 2014. Domestic sales in August 2014 stood at 13733 units over 13543 units during August 2013 equating to 1% sales growth.

Overall total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during August 2014 stood at 15006 units over 14158 units for the same period last year equating to 6% sales increase. Exports for the month stood at 1273 units over 615 units equating to 107% sales increase.

Cumulative sales for FY 15 stand at 102032 units equating to sales decline of 1% compared to 102704 units sold for the corresponding period in Fy 14. Exports for the period have improved by 10% at 4936 units sold over 4500 units in the comparable period last year. Total cumulative sales for the year stand at 106968 compared to 107204 units sold over the same months last year.

Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Farm Equipment and Two Wheeler Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said deficient rainfall impacted timely sowing of crops and farmer sentiment. The company hopes this festive season will provide a boost to industry growth in the months to come.

Mahindra Trucks and Buses sold 597 units in Aug ’14 over 471 units in Aug 13 to report 27% sales growth. Mahindra 3 wheeler sales stood at 5433 units in August 2014 over 5149 units sold in August 2013 equating to 6% sales increase. Mahindra 4-wheelers commercial (passenger and load) sales stand at 12975 units equating to 5% sales decline when compared to 13718 units sold in August 2013.
