Dark Horse and Roadmaster unveiled at new Bengaluru dealership launch of Indian Motorcycle

100-year-old American motorcycle manufacturing company, Indian Motorcycle has opened their second showroom in India. The first showroom was opened in 2014 in the National Capital while its second showroom has been inaugurated today, May 7, 2015, at Infantry Road, Bangalore.

This is the first official unveil of Indian Chief Dark Horse in India.

Two new bikes were also introduced at the inauguration of the new showroom. Indian Chief Dark Horse is based on the same platform as Indian Chief currently on sale in India. It is also powered by the same engine that is a 1811 cc four stroke, V twin air cooled engine offering peak torque of 139 Nm. Dark Horse sports twin disc brakes in the front and a single disc brake at the rear. On board features include ABS, remote key fog for keyless ignition, electronic cruise control while the bike is being offered with 2 years unlimited mileage factory warranty.

Indian Roadmaster is the costliest Indian Motorcycle on offer in the country today.

Indian Roadmaster, one of Indian Motorcycle’s costliest bikes is also launched. Indian Roadmaster is powered by the same engine seen on Dark Horse. Unveiled for the first time in India, the bike receives heated handle grips and individual adjustable heated seats and luxury features such as Horizon power windshield, adjustable floor boards and is fitted with three weather proof hard saddle bags with capacity of 140 liters. Though priced at INR 34,95,000, Indian Roadmaster with the above mentioned advancements sees price hike to INR 37 lakhs.

When asked as to why the company had selected Bangalore for its second showroom in the country, spokesperson of Polaris Industries, the parent company of Indian Motorcycle was sure that Bangalore would offer the company a niche market. The city is noted for its bike loving fraternity while spending capacity in the city is also taken into consideration. Bangalore has seen a number of foreign bikes making its debut in the city and following Harley-Davidson, Hayabusa, Ducati and Triumph, it is now the turn of Indian Motorcycle to set up a dealership in the city.
