China is set to overtake the US as the world's largest car market this year. Side by side India will top Japan in sale of super-compact cars.
Big automakers like Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen, General Motors etc are already investing millions of dollars in India just to get a chunk of the growing market of compact cars in India.
"From a small car production hub perspective, India is right in the center of the radar," said Michael Boneham, head of Ford India which is going to roll out the Figo early next year.
