To come in as a fully faired, compact sportsbike with clip-on handles and sporty split seats, the new Pulsar will receive similar engine details as seen on the present 200NS. This will be in the form of a four stroke, single cylinder engine offering peak power of 23.5 bhp and 1.86 kgm torque. Power will be transmitted via a six speed gearbox. The model will also receive a well laid out instrument panel and a sport exhaust system along with well designed alloy wheels.
The bike will be manufactured at their plant in Chakan, where they are also going to manufacture KTM RC200, a fully faired variant of the KTM Duke 200 naked sports bike. Receiving telescopic forks in the front and monoshock units at the rear, the new Bajaj Pulsar in the image above (credit to Autocar India), might be named as Pulsar 200 SS. Once launched, it will be priced aggressively, probably in the range of Rs 1.1-1.2 lakh. This will be good enough to compete with the likes of lower powered bikes like Yamaha R15 and Honda CBR150R.
