Isuzu Motors India management changes, plant operations to begin in April 2016

Naohiro Yamaguchi, General Manager, LCV Sales Project Dept at Isuzu Japan is on board as Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India (IMI). Hiroyasu Miura, Executive Officer and Executive in-charge of Manufacturing Engineering Planning Dept, Vehicle Manufacturing and New Business Development at Isuzu Japan joins as Chairman Isuzu Motors India, responsible for product engineering and development. Taizo Nakahigashi, Senior Vice President at Isuzu Motors India moves on as Chief Executive Officer at Isuzu Hicom Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. management changes announced are in line with Isuzu business plans.

Takashi Kikuchi is appointed President of Isuzu Motors Co., Thailand and also serves as Senior Executive Officer at Isuzu, Japan. He continues as Isuzu Motors India part-time board member. He has been instrumental in setting up Isuzu Motors India, having driven initial phase of Isuzu operations in India since 2012. Under his leadership, IMI has offered products in key segments and continues to build in pick-up and SUV segments. He pit into effect the tie-up with Hindustan Motors for CKD assembly, set to pace construction of new IMI manufacturing plant at SriCity, in Chitoor district of Andhra Pradesh, initiated tie-ups with component suppliers to establish IMI’s goal of localisation and worked on dealership network expansion (18 dealers as on date).

Takashi Kikuchi says the India journey has been interesting so far. Isuzu Motors India has seized the right opportunity here, and will make an impact in the Indian automobile industry. He will keenly watch the progress at IMI in his capacity as part-time board member of IMI, and otherwise. He takes charge of charge of Isuzu’s manufacturing plant in Thailand, a principle manufacturer of Isuzu pick-up trucks and SUVs, globally, and looks forward to supporting Indian operations in all ways.

Naohiro Yamaguchi who was responsible for LCV Sales Project at Isuzu, Japan brings his experience in sales operations and strategy to India to further accelerate IMI growth as it gears up towards full-fledged operations here by April 2016. He has overseen overseas sales operations and business development at Isuzu Motors in Japan, Thailand and Europe, and has been a key member of the India project team at Isuzu, Japan.

Hiroyasu Miura joins as Chairman at Isuzu Motors India and is responsible for product engineering and development. His experience spans areas of vehicle production and quality control in Japan and Thailand with a global approach. Isuzu Motors India will benefit from his global expertise in product engineering as IMI looks to offer a a robust product portfolio in due course of time. He will focus on standards in production and quality control. The new Chairman says, Isuzu is renowned for high quality vehicles focused on class-leading production and quality techniques. IMI has the same approach, and customers in India can be very proud of our products. He looks forward to his tenure in India and will ensure the highest quality standards in his capacity.
