Jaguar C-X17 Concept to be revealed at 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show
As 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show opens its doors on September 9, 2013, Jaguar will be revealing its C-X17 Concept, a new crossover. Based on advanced modular aluminum architecture, the new crossover’s first teaser was revealed earlier today. Jaguar C-X17 will be both muscular and lightweight.
Speaking about lightweight, Jaguar is keen to introduce its aluminum construction platform so as to compete with rivals. VW’s new steel and aluminum MLB platform has already made its way in new Audi cars, while BMW and Mercedes Benz too will be making cars based on an all aluminum construction. Lighter cars return better mileage, and in today’s date and time, mileage plays an important factor while buying a car. Thus Jaguar’s new aluminum architecture.
The platform which C-X17 Concept is based on is wider and longer and hence cabin is spacious and comfortable. Teaser of this upcoming model has been revealed. It is seen with five doors, and a tail gate spoiler which adds to its sporty appeal. C-X17 Concept receives a sloping roof line and high waist line giving the car a compact look. Besides C-X17, Jaguar will also be showcasing its XJR and XFR-S besides the F Type convertible at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Not much has been revealed, all Jaguar says as of now about the new C-X17 is that, “The C-X17 has been created as a design study to introduce Jaguar’s new, highly-advanced, modular aluminium architecture. The concept illustrates the diversity of vehicles that could be produced using this architecture, which underpins the innovative future of the Jaguar brand.”
