Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover global sales for Feb 2013
Jaguar Land Rover and its parent, Tata Motors have revealed their global sales figures for the month of February 2013. Tata Motors registered a decline of 22.36% while Jaguar Land Rover registered an increase of 10% in global sales for Feb 2013.
Jaguar Land Rover global sales for the month of February 2013 stand at 35,485 units, which compared to the 32,257 units sold in Feb 2012, is a 10% increase. Land Rover sales totaled 28,383, while Jaguar sales during Feb 2013 totaled 7,102 units, compared to 28,029 units and 4,228 units respectively sold in Feb 2012.
These increased sales were experienced in markets of Asia Pacific, where sales were up 20% while sales in North America were also up 20% followed by a 15% increase in sales in the US and a 6% increase in Europe. Conversely, sales in China, the fastest growing auto markets, saw a 22% fall. This was primarily due to the week long holiday in view of the Chinese New Year besides fewer days in the month of February.
Speaking about sales figures of Tata Motors, their car sales have been badly hit in India. For Feb 2013, Tata global sales stood at, 98,837 units, compared to 127,318 units sold in Feb 2012. But they are working towards launching new cars in the near future, which are expected to overturn their current decline in sales. Some of the new cars from Tata Motors which are expected to be launched in India this year include the new Nano facelift, 800 cc petrol Nano, Nano CNG and Nano diesel.
