Jaguar Project 7 based on F-Type to debut at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo #JLRAE2014
Based on their latest production sports car, F-Type, Project 7 is inspired from Jaguar’s legendary D Type racer which was their motorsports star during the period from 1954 to 1957. Jaguar D Type racer won 24 Hours of Le Mans three times in a row from 1955 to 1957. Project 7 is a tribute to this car, and it will be on display at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
Jaguar Project 7 is designed by Ian Callum, Director of Design at Jaguar and his team. A one seater sports car with open top, Project 7 features 20” Blade forged alloy wheels and carbon fiber inserts. It is powered by Jaguar’s 5.0l V8 generating 542 hp and 680 Nm torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 299 kmph.
Speaking about the Project 7, Ian Callum says, “Project 7 is a single-seater sports car based on the F-TYPE, with the kind of racing-inspired form that designers dream about. It has one purpose: to be driven fast and enjoyed. Jaguar sports cars are known for exceptional performance and clean design. Project 7 captures that spirit in its purest form.” To be on display at the Jaguar stand during 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, this car will share space with the F-Type Coupe and C-X17 concept crossover.
