Thanks to the new aluminium architecture, Jaguar XE is lighter and stronger, making the car efficient as well as better at handling. Speaking about engine options on offer, Jaguar offers a range of petrol and diesel engine options with the XE, including the new range of Ingenium engines.

Jaguar Ingenium engines can be configured to suit in-line and transverse installations. They can be used on rear wheel drive and all wheel drive options. These new engines are powerful, as well as fuel efficient. Diesel 2.0 liter Ingenium is offered in two tunes 160 BHP / 380 Nm and 178 BHP / 430 Nm, petrol 2.0 liter Ingenium is offered in two tunes of 197 BHP / 280 Nm and 237 BHP / 340 Nm.

There is also a 3.0 liter V6 supercharged unit, which delivers 335 BHP / 450 Nm. This engine will be seen on board the XE R variant. It is not yet certain as to which engine options will be seen on board the XE in India.

To be assembled at JLR India’s plant in Pune, Jaguar XE will compete with the likes of Mercedes C Class, Audi A4, and BMW 3 Series upon launch in India. Initial units of XE could be sold as CBUs, with price ranging from INR 32-40 lakh.
