JaguarXJ220 is now 20 years old. The car was unveiled way back in 1988 when it was showcased at the British Auto Show in its concept form, while it was actually launched in 1992. Production XJ220 offered 550 hp and 475 lb/ft torque and speeds of 0 to 100 kmph in just 4 seconds and a top speed of 325kmph, setting a new record way back in the 1990s. The car weighed 1470 kgs and was very sturdy and fast, in spite of this weight.

Jaguar XJ220 was designed by Keith Helfet and the car went into production in December 1989. 18 inch Speedline rear wheels were covered with special 345/35 Bridgestone Expedia tyres. The car possessed an AP Racing twin plate clutch and five speed gearbox.

Jaguar XJ220 was completely hand built at the company's Bloxham factory in Oxfordshire. The first customer car was delivered XJ220 in 1992 for a price of £460,000. Unfortunately, production came to a standstill in 1994, with only 275 cars built till date, making XJ220, one of the classic supercars ever to have sped on the face of this planet.
