There have been several reports about Koenigsegg’s camless engine based on the V8 twin turbo that has been making rounds on automobile magazines and social media. According to Car & Driver pneumatically controlled valves in this engine enable individual regulation of each cylinder.

Although it’s a known fact that camless design integrations are not new, variable applications of pneumatic valve control used in production cars is a rarity. It has been reported that the camless engine designed by Koenigsegg is capable of improving fuel efficiency by 30%.

Car and Driver, the popular American Automotive magazine also mentions that Koenigsegg is trying to make fast headway by seeking exemption on a smart airbag design that would allow the Agera 8 to be sold in the US. Koenigsegg is also expected to unveil a rendering at the Geneva Auto Show this week.
