KTM 1290 Super Adventure unveiled
INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany to be held on 30th September 2014, will see the new KTM 1290 Super Adventure in attendance. Already making its presence felt online, the new KTM 1290 Super Adventure is positioned as a high end sports tourer set to compete against the Aprilia Caponord, Ducati Multistrada and BMW R1200GS.
The Austrian manufacturer has confirmed that KTM’s 1290 Super Adventure shares underpinnings with 1190 Adventure R and goes on sale from 2015. It will receive a larger fuel tank and will be fitted with state of the art electronics supporting riding assistance equipment. This on board equipment will include Motorcycle Stability Control System with ABS, traction control system and a host of preset updates that have been developed by KTM along with technical partner Bosch.
KTM 1290 Super Adventure will receive a 1301cc V liquid cooled V-Twin engine also seen on board the 1290 Super Duke R. This engine is capable of 180 HP power while being mated to a 6 speed transmission. First and only official photos of the 1290 Super Adventure from KTM have been released but details are limited with more to be revealed once the super bike debuts at INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany, on September 30th.
