KTM RC 200 spied testing with Honda CBR250R before launch
KTM RC200 and RC390 sports bikes have been spotted being tested extensively in India with launches expected by mid 2014, ahead of the festive season. KTM RC200 will be priced slightly higher than the Duke 200 while the RC 390 to be priced higher than Duke 390, with both KTM RC200 and RC390 being produced from the Bajaj Auto factory at Chakan.
Bajaj Auto will be launching the RC390 prior to RC200. RC200 will be a premium full faired bike which will stand out due to its style while it will sport a 200cc engine offering enhanced performance and efficient mileage. RC200 will be powered by a 199.5cc four valve engine offering 25 ps power and 19.2 Nm torque. It will weigh and additional 8 kgs over its Duke counterpart.
Features on board will include a USD front fork, multifunctional fully digital display and radial brake calipers. Once launched, the RC200 will compete with the Honda CBR 250R which the company is using as a benchmark to test the RC200 capabilities, reveals Motoroids. Seen earlier at the Milan Motorcycle Show, the RC200 will sport a number of common features to the Duke 200 with regard to engine, suspension and gearbox while difference will lie in the new LED daytime lights, seating position and fairing. The KTM RC200 competes favourably against the CBR250R where handling, stability and ride ergonomics is concerned. It is scheduled in India before the upcoming festive season with an approximate price tag of INR 1.6 lakhs.
