KTM RC Series RC 125, RC 200 and RC 390 in the offing
Austrian bike makers KTM, partially owned by Bajaj Auto Limited, have only recently introduced their new Duke 390, but have already planned three fully faired sports bikes which are expected to be revealed by end of this year, at the EICMA.
Each of these new KTM bikes will come in designs that have been inspired by the KTM Moto3 race bike. These are entry level bikes which will compete with CBR250R and Hyosung GT250R in India. They will be based on the same platform as Duke 125, Duke 200 and Duke 390 while engines too will be same.
KTM RC 390 will be the first of these three bikes to be launched initially in European markets, after which it will be launched in India. RC200 and RC 125 are only scheduled for launch by April 2014. All three sports bikes will be produced from the Bajaj Auto plant in Chakan. The details on the new KTM motorcycles here, were revealed by Mr. Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM, in an interview with Alan Cathcart of Cycle News.
