KTM RC390 shines in the dark: India spy shots
Spotted in the dark, the all-new KTM RC390 is scheduled to be launched later this year in India. Powered by a 373.2cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine, the RC390 is based on Duke 390, and comes with upgrades such as full fairing, better riding comfort, and suspensions tuned for touring.
First unveiled at the 2013 Milan Motorcycle Show, RC390 will be launched in Europe with a price tag of less than €7,000 (approximately Rs 6 lakh). But, as the bike is built in India, at Bajaj Auto plant in Chakan near Pune, it will be priced at a much lesser rate.
For eg, the Duke 390 is sold in Europe for a price tag of about €5,390 (Rs 4.61 lakh), but in India, it is sold for an ex-showroom price of about Rs 2 lakh. This means that it is very much possible for Bajaj to price the KTM RC390 in the Rs 2.3-2.5 lakh segment.
Once launched, the new KTM will compete with Duke 390, Honda CBR250R, Ninja 300, Suzuki Inazuma, and also with the new range of superbikes, which are expected to be launched in the near future. For eg, Yamaha R25, Hero HX250R, Kawasaki Z250, Triumph 250, TVS Draken, etc
