Lada Vesta Concept at 2014 Moscow Motor Show
At the 2014 Moscow Motor Show today, Russian car maker AvtoVAZ unveiled two new concepts under their Lada brand – Vesta sedan and X-Ray2 hatchback. Unlike other Russian cars, these new concepts feature futuristic European design elements.
Speaking about the Lada Vesta, it is developed by AvtoVAZ in collaboration with the Renault-Nissan alliance. this sedan is expected to enter production in September next year at Izhevsk plant. Once launched, it will have a price tag of less than 400,000 rubles (Rs 6.95 lakhs).
Nothing has been revealed about the engine options which will be on offer, but it has been confirmed that four new engines have been developed which will deliver power in the range of 87 hp to 122 hp.
As far as design is concerned, the car features Lada’s X shaped front grille, X design on the side body, and angular rear LEDs. Built on a completely new platform, the new Lada Vesta is the largest car in the B segment in Russia.
Features on-board Lada Vesta include adjustable steering column, cabin filters, 3-L shaped rear head-rests, ABS, ESP, corrosion resistance warranty of 6 years, engines tested to perform in Russian cold weather conditions, and fuel tank size of 55 litres.
