The world’s motoring press has already driven LaFerrari’s keen competitors McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder and has now given their reviews on this new LaFerrari. First media test drives and three magazines, including Autocar, EVO and Car&Driver have given their take on the Ferrari LaFerrari of which 499 examples were produced and already sold out even before the dawn of 2014.
Loaded with technology and a hefty price tag of £1m (INR 10,16,50,608, US$1,682,400) Ferrari LaFerrari is one of the most capable road cars seen to date. It receives a mid mounted engine. This engine is capable of 950 bhp peak output at 9000 rpm and peak torque of 900 Nm at 6750 rpm.
The engine is able of taking the LaFerrari to a top speed of 365 kmph and acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3 seconds. It can lap around the Ferrari Fiorano test track in Italy in less than 1 min 20 secs which is a good 5 secs faster than the Enzo. Its 60 kgs lithium ion battery pack is situated on the floorpan giving the LaFerrari 35mm lower centre of gravity than the Enzo while a hybrid system emits just 330 g/km of CO2.
LaFerrari measures 4,702mm long and 1,992mm wide and sits on a 2,650mm wheelbase while total weight stands at 1250 kgs. Pirelli P Zero tyres and new generation Brembo carbon ceramic brakes are its highlights. However despite boasting of advanced design, awesome power and performance, one of the reviews say the LaFerrari is not a hair raising or feisty car to drive but rather puts one at ease the minute one takes to the wheel.
