Lamborghini sales grow in 2012: Aventador Roadster India launch nears

The year 2012 was particularly noteworthy for Lamborghini. Despite economic and financial constraints in market conditions, the Italian luxury car manufacturer experienced 30% increase in global sales during the past year.

Lamborghini sports car sales during the year 2012 stood at 2,083 units as against 1,602 units delivered in the same period previous year. Besides global sales, sales in India were also equally healthy, with the company accounting for a 21% increase in sales in the country.

It was the award winning Lamborghini Aventador that pushed their sales higher. Sales for this model touched 922 units during the year while sales of Lamborghini Gallardo stood at 1,161 units in 2012. Sales across the Asia Pacific region contributed 35% to total global sales while sales across Europe increased by 34%. US sales increased 50% while sales in South East Asia and the Pacific increased 46% as compared to a year earlier. Lamborghini now looks ahead at 2013 for one very special reasons.

This is the year when Lamborghini is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Lamborghini India on the other hand, is getting ready to launch its new super sports car Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster on the 25th Jan 2013.
