Land Rover Discovery Sport Features list and variant lineup for India revealed

Land Rover Discovery Sport features list and variant lineup has been revealed by Autocar India. The Freelander 2 replacement will be launched in India on September 2 and it has already garnered over 200 bookings.

Discovery Sport for India will be available with the older 2.2-litre diesel engine rather than the new Ingenium 2.0-litre diesel motors that are available in international markets. The India-spec motor is available in two states of tune – 150 PS/400 Nm and 190 PS/420 Nm. The more powerful version is available only in the top-end variant. A 9-speed ZF automatic transmission is standard across the range.

The premium SUV will be available in four trims – S, SE, HSE and HSE Luxury. Standard features include Hill Descent Control, Roll Stability Control, Dynamic Stability Control.

Discovery Sport is set to become the most affordable Land Rover in India.

The base S variant comes equipped with 6 airbags, 6-speaker audio system, cloth seats, 17-inch alloy wheels with full size spare, electrically adjustable wing mirrors with heating function. The SE variant adds panoramic sunroof (fixed), electrically foldable wing mirrors, automatic xenon lamps with LED DRLs, automatic wipers, part leather wipers, 60:40 spit second row seats with slide and recline feature, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, 10-speaker audio system, ambient lighting and 7-seat option (gets space saver spare wheel).

The HSE trims carries forward the features that are available in SE trim in addition to offering grained leather seats and steering wheel, dual zone climate control, and a premium audio system with 10 speakers. The range-topping HSE Luxury further adds contrast roof color, Adaptive MagneRide suspension, adaptive xenon lamps, premium Windsor leather seats and carpets, rear entertainment package and 17-speaker Meridian surround sound system.

Discovery Sport S variant is expected to be the most affordable Land Rover in India. The car is being assembled at JLR India’s Pune plant out of CKD kits.
