A momentous day for Dacia earlier this evening with sales reaching the 3 million mark since 2004. Lucky number 3 mill was a blue Sandero Stepway, which was handed over to its owner at the ongoing 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Dacia Duster SUV has been turned into a pickup by a Romanian coachbuilder Romturingia with help from Renault Tehnologie Roumanie.
Renault’s Romanian brand, Dacia has revealed plans to introduce two exclusive models, Duster Air and Sandero Black Touch at 2014 Paris Motor Show opening October2, 2014. Dacia Duster Air, called Blackstorm in other markets along with Sandero Black will be seen in limited editions with a host of equipment upgrades and select styling elements.
Dacia has unveiled 2015 Duster facelift for UK market, which remains as UK’s cheapest SUV at no extra cost from current pricing. It doesn’t mean Dacia has not revamped Duster much, there is a platter of upgrades from outgoing model.
Right Hand Drive Dacia Duster for UK market used to be produced in Renault-Nissan‚Äôs Chennai plant in India, until this summer. Then production was shifted to Dacia‚Äôs Pitesti plant in Romania, where Left Hand Drive Duster is already being built.
Dacia Italy has introduced a Limited Edition Duster Brave Edition at ‚ā¨ 19,900 (INR 15,89,481). Limited to just 100 units, Duster Brave Edition boasts of military type camouflage with distinctive ‚ÄėBrave Edition‚ÄĚ badges.
Nissan India reports 2,913 vehicles sold in July 2014 over 1,226 units sold in July 2013 equating to 138% sales growth. For the current financial year, Nissan India Sales to Date stands at 17,597 over 7,494 for the same period last year, equating to 135% sales growth.
Already spotted on test in India, near Renault Nissan Chennai plant, the new Lodgy MPV will be launched in India by January 2015. Production is set to commence at their Chennai plant later this year. Once launched, Lodgy will compete with Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Toyota Innova, Nissan Evalia, and Chevrolet Enjoy.
Completely owned subsidiary of Renault, Romanian automaker Dacia, has received resounding response to their cars in France. Ever since launch of the Logan model in 2005, the company has sold a total of 600,000 cars in the country and is currently the fourth largest auto brand in the French market.
4 years since launch, combined worldwide production of Renault and Dacia branded Duster has reached the 1 million mark. The millionth Duster was made at Renault Curitiba plant, Brazil and will be delivered in the domestic market.
Porsche Macan, the sportiest SUV in its segment has a compact styling and sporty stance much like a crouching tiger after which it is named. It sports a sharp roofline which swoops down the back and sits on over sized wheels giving it an aggressive posture. But, at a press event in Morocco, a Porsche Macan got stuck while tackling some light off roading. However it was Renault brand’s Dacia Duster on hand that got the premium Porsche out of the jam.
