Already spotted on test in India, near Renault Nissan Chennai plant, the new Lodgy MPV will be launched in India by January 2015. Production is set to commence at their Chennai plant later this year. Once launched, Lodgy will compete with Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Toyota Innova, Nissan Evalia, and Chevrolet Enjoy.
Completely owned subsidiary of Renault, Romanian automaker Dacia, has received resounding response to their cars in France. Ever since launch of the Logan model in 2005, the company has sold a total of 600,000 cars in the country and is currently the fourth largest auto brand in the French market.
4 years since launch, combined worldwide production of Renault and Dacia branded Duster has reached the 1 million mark. The millionth Duster was made at Renault Curitiba plant, Brazil and will be delivered in the domestic market.
Porsche Macan, the sportiest SUV in its segment has a compact styling and sporty stance much like a crouching tiger after which it is named. It sports a sharp roofline which swoops down the back and sits on over sized wheels giving it an aggressive posture. But, at a press event in Morocco, a Porsche Macan got stuck while tackling some light off roading. However it was Renault brand’s Dacia Duster on hand that got the premium Porsche out of the jam.
First unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Dacia Lodgy is a low-cost MPV already on sale in Europe. 2015 will see Renault start the production of the same Lodgy MPV at their facility in India. Once launched, Lodgy will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio in the Indian auto industry.
Renault has exceeded its 2011-2013 objective and delivered €2.5 billion in cumulative free cash flow. Efforts are now being concerted to “Drive the Change” to be measured in 2017 and entails generating 50 billion euros in consolidated turnover, and to reach an operating margin greater than 5% of turnover with positive free cash flow each year.
Renault’s low-cost brand, Dacia is currently working on a new Duster Pick up, which was recently spotted on test in Romania. New Dacia Duster SUV is based on the pre-facelift Duster.
