Isuzu Malaysia has launched new D-Max V-Cross range of pickup trucks that house 3.0 litre engines. This V-Cross models are based on second generation D-Max pickups, launched in Malaysia in May 2013. The first generation D-Max debuted there in 2003.
Isuzu Motors has already announced the launch of India made D-Max, which is one of the widest selling pick-up trucks across the globe. D-Max pick-up range will include three models in two cabin and two deck variants. D-Max Single Cab is a flat desk variant while D-Max Space Cab will be offered in flat and arched deck variants in India.
Isuzu launches D-Max Space Cab in Mumbai today for a price of Rs. 6.19 lakh ex-showroom. This is the third addition to Isuzu’s D-Max line up of pick-ups. Showcased at Delhi Auto Expo in February 2014, this Cab features extra room behind front row seats for utility purposes.
New Delhi, February 5th, 2014: Isuzu Motors, the iconic Japanese automobile maker and a recognized diesel-engine expert, today unveiled its globally successful “ISUZU D-MAX Space Cab” India’s First Multi-Utility Pickup at the Delhi Motor Show.
Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd, leading auto and diesel engine makers set up their first showroom in India. The new showroom is opened in Ambattur Industrial Estate in Chennai and is spread over an area of 3000 sq ft.
The Isuzu brand in India is known in a big way largely due to Hindustan Motors’ Ambassador, which uses an Isuzu engines since 1992. The tie up with Isuzu will give Hindustan Motors a boost in regards to production operation.
Isuzu’s own manufacturing plant is likely to be operational by 2015-16 at a total investment of Rs. 3000 crores for this plant with production capacity of 1,00,000 to 1,20,000 units once fully operational.
Isuzu’s contract manufacturing agreement with Hindustan Motors (HML) sees the latter assemble CKD kits of Isuzu MU-7 SUV and and D-Max pick-up truck at their Thiruvallur, Chennai plant.
