Highly anticipated new Jeep C-segment SUV is confirmed a reality by Jeep’s chief of International Product Planning, Adrian Van Campenhout.
With Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler to launch inÂ India in 2015, the parent company- Fiat Chrysler Automobiles plans to open 15 new dedicated dealerships across India.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles are executing plans to manufacture a Jeep SUV in India, as a part of Rs. 1,500 – Rs. 2,500 crore investment here. It will be priced at Rs. 20 – Rs. 25 lakhs in India, when it is launched in next two years.
Fiat Group Automobiles India, a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, has announced launch of the Jeep SUV brand in India in 2015. Earlier expected to launch in 2013, plans were deferred to 2014, following which the company has confirmed launch in 2015 stating that official announcements will be made shortly.
Jeep is gearing up to diversify and triple its production with six models in six countries in coming years. Plans of Jeep’s expansion were revealed at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ headquarters in Auburn Hills earlier this week, when Sergio Marchionne, FCAâ€™s Chief Executive presented the group’s five-year plan.
