Skoda has extended its sponsorship with Tour de France as official partner and official vehicle partner until 2018. The 5 year agreement was signed early in March Skoda and the French marketing company, ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation). Part of the sponsorship will include La Vuelta. 8 other international cycling events have been incorporated into the A.S.O. agreement.
Skoda India sold 1,300 vehicles in February 2014. When compared to 1,800 cars sold in 2013, this equates to 28.2% sales decline.
2013 FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) winner and MRF driver Gaurav Gill today confirmed that he and co-driver Glenn Macneall will defend their title with the Team MRF ŠKODA Fabia S2000 for the 2014 championship. Gill became the first Indian to win the prestigious APRC title and more importantly won it using MRF Tyres, adding yet another title to the leading Indian tyre manufacturer. Team MRF Skoda will field two teams again with European Rally Championship winners Jan Kopecky and Pavel Dresler in the other car.

VW Group’s Czech car maker, Skoda Auto revealed the first official sketch of their VisionC Concept car, that is due for a debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Powered by a 1.4l TSI four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, that can also run on CNG, the VisionC study delivers 110 PS power and meets Europe’s stringent 2020 emission norms.
