Skoda Auto India, fully owned subsidiary of Skoda Auto has introduced a day long Free Pollution Check-Up campaign along with SIAM to mark World Environment Day on June 5, 2014. This initiative is being adopted to promote a greener, safer and healthier environment in the country.
Skoda yeti Xtreme to premiere and participate in this year’s GTI event at Wörthersee in Austria. This will be the company’s fifth time to take part in the festival. Skoda will also introduce the Citijet concept, built by Skoda apprentices. The 33rd GTI tuning event by Volkswagen will see around 200,000 fans attending the event in Reifnitz, Austria, between 28th and 31st May 2014.
Skoda CitiJet Concept, designed by a team of 16 Skoda design apprentices over a period of 6 months has been revealed. Seen in an attractive metallic paint of blue/white, this CitiJet concept now heads to Worthersee for the VW Group gathering (being held from 28-31 May 2014 this year), where it will rub shoulders with SEAT Ibiza Cupster among others.
Skoda India showcased the Yeti facelift in Auto Expo 2014 in February, which will be launched by September 2014. Originally unveiled at 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the company’s first SUV received positive critique and was declared to be a good family SUV. Hence, Skoda introduced Yeti 4×4 in India in 2010 and Yeti 4×2 in 2011. Current Price of Skoda Yeti is Rs. 15,19,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Skoda will celebrate their 40th anniversary of RS 130 next year and to mark that, a new RS badged car is expected to launch. As the source revealed, it will be a new Octavia RS sporting 280 PS of peak power, with some design changes as well.
Skoda Rapid is reported to receive a new 1.5 litre diesel engine and a DSG automatic gearbox by the end of this year. However, facelift and much of exterior changes may not be expected, although interior might receive some styling changes. Launch expected in fourth quarter of 2014.
Skoda Auto India is hosting a month long comprehensive summer check-up camp from 2nd – 31st May 2014. This entails a 16 point complimentary check of Skoda cars at an authorized dealership. A thorough examination of the AC, engine, steering, clutch, electrical system, tires and wheel rims, etc, will be undertaken.
