KTM launched “Escape your daily race” contest to give away KTM RC390 and RC125 bikes for winners. The photo / video competition hosts ten challenges spread out to one for every two weeks. One who secures highest sum of scores at the end of all challenges will get the keys of new KTM RC390.
Bajaj Auto, the country’s second largest motorcycle maker, is also the largest manufacturer in the Performance Sement. Their Pulsar and KTM brand motorcycle sales are on the rise. Bajaj Pulsar sales have crossed the 1.55 lakh mark while KTM sales have touched 35,000 in FY14.
Hero showcased Karizma R and Karizma ZMR at Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year and started selling this month. Karizma was debuted in May 2003 as first premium and high performance bike from Hero Motocorp. The 223 cc bike was considered to be racy and preferred by enthusiasts until Bajaj came up with high end Pulsar bikes, 200 and 220.
KTM takes GP fascination to streets via new RC series sports bikes made in India. RC 125, RC 200 and RC 390 manufactured in Bajaj’s Chakan plant in Pune, will soon be launched here minus RC 125, which is planned only for export to Europe.
KTM will begin marketing 1290 Super Duke R naked bike in Indonesia this month, at launch price of 475 million Rupiah (Rs. 23.79 lakhs approx.). Launched in United Kingdom last year at a price of £13,999 (Rs. 14.3 lakhs approx.), the high end 1.3 litre bike may launch in India as well at price range of Rs. 14 to 17 lakhs.
KTM to re-enter Brazilian market via local Dafra Motos this year and introduce 14 bikes by 2015 end. Bikes coming via CKD (Complete Knocked Down) route will be assembled at Dafra’s assembly plant at Manaus. KTM joins list of bikes assembled by Dafra; includes BMW, Ducati and MV Agusta.
Spied on test in minimal camouflage was the upcoming KTM RC390 scheduled to receive a festive launch. KTM RC390 is one of the most anticipated bikes this year and will be seen based on the same platform as 390 Duke while it will also share the same engine.
KTM 390 Duke is a machine for hardcore street biking enthusiasts. It outmatches the competition with its rev thirsty engine, and as we Indians would seek, it comes in attractive price package. As simple as that, Duke 390 conquered the segment. KTM has now identified a fault in chain drive setup and has issued a recall notice.
