Miami-based UM Motorcycles, that showcased its models at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, could be ready for mid-2015 launch in India.
US based UM Motorcycles has signed equal joint venture with UP based Lohia Auto to invest Rs. 120 crores to launch a portfolio of motorcycles in Indian market. The alliance will manufacture locally and distribute American motorcycles, starting with cruiser bikes.
UM Global’s Hypersport 2015, Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports bikes made unofficial debut in Pune recently. This American born motorcycle brand UM showcased its Renegade series of bikes at 2014 India Auto Expo and revealed plans to establish market here. But this spy shot indicates that 2015 UM Hypersport is being considered for launch here, despite the fact that it was not showcased in Auto Expo.
Miami-based motorcycle manufacturer, UM Global, marked its entry into India’s motorcycle market at the Auto Expo, through Indian subsidiary, UM Motorcycles. They are entering the Indian auto industry in association with a local manufacturer, whose name is yet to be announced. The company had a host of models on display which included Falcon, Razor, Max and Venus, Street Fastwind and Nitrox.
