Legacy of Eiji Toyoda of Toyota Motor Corp
Former Toyota Motor Corp President, Eiji Toyoda died of heart failure at the age of 100 this week. His career with Toyota Motors spanned 69 years and he was the longest serving president of the company. The younger cousin to Toyoda’s founder Kiichiro Toyoda, Eiji helped in expansion of the company into the United States.
It was under Eiji Toyoda’s guidance that the company expanded to 10 new factories and commenced exports to countries across the globe. He was instrumental in leading Toyota’s expansion into North America and in developing the car maker into a global company.
