Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes AMG Petronas have signed a three year contract wherein Lewis will race for the team from the upcoming F1 Season in 2013. He will be in the driver’s lineup along with Nico Rosberg. Lewis has signed the three year agreement worth £45 million and an additional £15 million in bonuses if he performs well. This brings to an end a 27 year long relationship that Lewis had with McLaren which he signed with them at the age of 13. Lewis’ move to Mercedes AMG Petronas will see Sergio Perez taking his place at McLaren.

Hamilton will once again team up with Nico Rosberg. These two racer go back a long way to their youth when they rivaled on the track and were team mates in 2000 at TeamMBM.com in Formula a karting. Lewis has been associated with Mercedes Benz when he drove Mercedes Benz engines during two seasons of Formula 3 Euroseries when he won the 2005 championships.

Lewis will replace Michael Schumacher at Mercedes AMG Petronas. He is currently fourth in drivers’ championships as he has won three races this season in Canada, Hungary and Italy and finished on the podium in three opening races in Australia, Malaysia and China.
