Lorenzo’s bike sucks in a seagull during Australian MotoGP (Video)
MotoGP world champion, Jorge Lorenzo of Spain, overcame a collision with a seagull to qualify for Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix. Lorenzo hit a seagull while participating in the Lukey Heights, Australian Grand Prix MotoGP qualifying on Saturday.
Lorenzo broke Casey Stoner’s lap record to qualify as fastest in a matter of 1:27:899 ahead of world champion Marc Marquez 1:28:120 and Valentino Rossi’s 1:28:647. The seagull got wedged in the right faring of the engine and stayed in position for a few laps as Lorenzo sped ahead after which he had to head to the pits to get it removed.
Yamaha rider, Lorenzo now trails Marquez by 18 points after the 2013 Australian MotoGP, which saw Marquez getting black flagged as he stayed longer on the track than required before taking mandatory pit stop.
