Renault has made exciting announcements where their Alpine brand is concerned. For starters Renault will be reviving the brand with Société des Automobiles Alpine Caterham. Besides this, the brand’s first new car will enter markets in 2016. Renault also entered five A110 Berlinettes in Rallye Monte Carlo Historique in January.
Alpine A110-50 was released as a mark of honor of the 50th anniversary of Berlinettes. 5 such 110s were released and were well received. Alpine now returns to endurance raging for the 2013 season and will take part in the Le Mans 24 Hours and 2013 European Le Mans Series to be held in June 22 and 23, 2013. This participation is after a long gap when Alpine contested in 24 Hours between the years 1963 and 1978.
In a comeback to endurance racing, Alpine has linked up with Signatech where an Alpine LM P2 prototype fitted with an Alpine chassis powered by a 500hp Nissan motor will be seen participating driven by Nelson Panciatici and Pierre Ragues. The third driver will be announced in due course when the car is officially presented on March 24 at Le Castellet, France.
