Bentley Motors have a new Director of Design at the helm. Luc Donckerwolke has been appointed in place of Dirk van Braeckel who will be joining Volkswagen Group. Luc Donckerwolke is not new to the auto sector. He has been instrumental in the design of Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo while he introduced the new arrow design language in the Ibiza.

His previous position before joining Bentley Motors was as Head of Advanced Design for VW Group. Having studied industrial engineering and transportation design, he has a career that dates back to 1992 when he was exterior designer at Audi while he has also worked at SEAT and moved on to work in Skoda in 1994 to head coordinating exterior design.

He then returned to Audi in 1996 to head exterior design department at Munich Studio and went on to become studio director in Ingolstadt. In 1998, Luc Donckerwolke joined the Lamborghini brand as design project manager and became Head of Design at Lamborghini in 2003 and Director Design at SEAT in 2005.
