Indian brands have been taking to the global markets at a very high rate, this is evident from the fact that after Tata showcases its models at the Indonesian motor show, it’s now Mahindra’s turn to premier its products for the global market at the Sao Paulo auto show. These models will be launched in the Brazilian markets at a competitive price during the first half 2013.

In India, the XUV 500 is a 7-seater vehicle powered by a 140 hp diesel engine. It boasts of an all wheel drive system and six airbags for passenger safety. The Genio pickup truck is loaded with safety features like ABS and airbags and has a comfortable load capacity of 1,260 kg’s.

Quanto possess a five seater seating arrangement and 2.2l mHawk engine which produces power of 120 hp. The engine is connected to a 5 speed manual transmission system and features of this vehicle include airbags, start stop system, VGT, ABS coupled with EBD and trip computer. Mahindra has not yet revealed the prices of these vehicles and an official statement from the company related to this development is still awaited.

One important thing to note here is that Brazil does not permit the use of diesel in cars. They use a combination of petrol and ethanol. So when Mahindra launches the Quanto, XUV500 and Genio pickup in Brazil next year, their engine will be modified for petrol and ethanol.
