Mahindra plans to launch SsangYong Korando SUV in India
Mahindra launched the first SsangYong car in India last year in the form of Rexton SUV. Mahindra now reveals that they are studying Indian market conditions for the launch of second SsangYong SUV, Korando compact crossover in India.
Korando is Mahindra owned SsangYong’s first SUV to be based on a monocoque platform. It is available in both petrol and diesel powered engine options currently. This five seater measures 4.3 meters in length and has limited luggage space of just 486 liters. Despite its compact dimensions, the Korando possesses a sporty stance and features flared wheel arches and muscular flanks. Once launched in India later this year, Mahindra will position the Korando slightly above their current XUV500.
Korando should come in at an expected base price of Rs.15 lakhs as against the Rexton which is priced between Rs.18.73 lakhs and Rs.20.93 lakhs (ex-showroom Kolkata).
