Both Mahindra Quanto and Renault Duster will spice up this quarter of the Indian compact SUV market. When it comes to competition it is to be seen which of the two will be a winner over the other, especially where the pricing factor is concerned. Launching well in time for the upcoming festive season, Mahindra will be launching their Quanto in 20th September 2012. Buying cars in India does come down to the price factor more often than not, and that’s where M&M cold strike gold.

This SUV will create a new segment in the market as it will be the first SUV in a sub 4 meter category which will obviously take advantage of lower taxes to compete with Renault Duster. Comfortably seating upto 7 adults in its hold, Quanto is to be unveiled to Indian audience on September 20th. Seats are upholstered in high quality fabric, power steering will make the drive easy while power windows and a highly functional air conditioning system will make occupants comfortable. Mahindra is expected to price the new Mahindra Quanto between Rs.5.5 lakhs and Rs.6 lakhs as it offers competition to even vehicle from other segment when price consideration is optimum.

In Renault Duster on the other hand, interior space is at a premium. Production commenced earlier, and the plant is currently working three shifts in September while order books are already well over the 15000 mark with a waiting period of 6 months. Pricing starts at Rs.7.2 lakhs.
