Attention is sought due to the fact that the vehicle is green and clean and offers extended range on a single recharge. Mahindra Reva e2o can be charged at home via a normal plug point of 15 amps. The car is fitted with Sun2Car solar technology as well. It is produced from the company plant in Bengaluru which was recently inaugurated. This plant has a capacity of upto 30,000 vehicles per annum.
Mahindra Reva underwent tests over the past year and planned launch in early 2013 post the Union Budget as the company thought that the Government would make certain concessions for electric vehicles and vehicles using alternative fuels in the 2013-14 Union Budget. However, this was not the case as the Finance Minister only extended the benefits to import of vital components for electric cars which include battery and electronic parts.
