Electric cars in brilliant colors instantly attracted the attention of every passerby with some even whipping out their smart phones to capture the images of these car owners who value the preservation of environment and the bid for cleaner air. The rally of Reva e2o cars passed through Bangalore’s Golf Course Road, KR Circle and Cubbon Park.
The participants also included Transport Commissioner K Amaranarayanana who planted over 100 saplings at the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park. The rally was an initiative undertaken by Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd as part of their endeavor to project electric cars as a way to not only improve the quality of life for generations to come but also to improve the quality of air for the current generation. The company plans even more such efforts in support of electric vehicles in the months ahead.
Bangalore was once called the Green City. But almost 1.6 lakh trees have been cut down in the name of urbanization. This has left some parts of the city choked on polluting gases. This has pushed many people in Bangalore to consider e2o, instead of a petrol or a diesel powered car.
