Mahindra Scorpio facelift spied before launch
2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift was once again caught testing in Chennai. Expected to be launched later this year, the production model will receive a host of exterior and interior updates with some elements borrowed from the current XUV500, which has proved to be a phenomenal success for the company.
2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift codenamed S-594 as on date, in camouflage appears to be production ready. Its updates includes features such as a redesigned front end, a new headlight cluster, fog lights and aggressive front bumper, all of which give the new Scorpio a more aggressive and dynamic appeal. Also evident was a new front grille in a more elongated design and various chrome accents on its exterior. The rear end bears all LED tail lamps.
Interiors of the 2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift gets a redesigned dash and steering wheel borrowed from the XUV500 besides a new infotainment system and instrument cluster. However the refreshed Scorpio will continue with the same engine configurations as seen on board the current model in the form of a 2.2 liter four cylinder diesel engine offering peak output of 120 bhp at 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 290 Nm at between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual or 6 speed automatic gearbox. The Scorpio facelift could be officially launched by the end of this year in time for the festive season.
