Mahindra SsangYong Rexton W SUV for India revealed: Launch tomorrow (Video)

Mahindra will be launching their new SsangYong Rexton W diesel SUV in India tomorrow on October 17th 2012. Seen earlier this year at the 2012 Busan Motor Show in South Korea and the Delhi Auto Expo, the SUV will be assembled in India at the company plant in Chakan near Pune through CKD kits.

SsangYong Rexton W with its more contemporary stance will be available both as a 5 seater and 7 seater and will compete with Toyota Fortuner and Chevrolet Captiva once it is launched and prices will also be kept at competitive levels and are expected to be well within the Rs.18 lakh mark.

Engine specifications of the new SsangYong Rexton W will include a turbo diesel 2.7 liter engine with 165 bhp peak power and 340 Nm peak torque mated to a five speed manual gearbox or a 5 speed automatic gearbox as per customer’s desires. SsangYong Rexton W will possess a host of features which will include ABS, EBD, cruise control, reverse parking assist, automatic climate control and projector headlamps to name a few while more details will be apparent once the vehicle is launched on the 17th October.
