Mahindra to move 2 wheeler business under AFS: Launches Bolero Flat Bed Refresh
An announcement has been made by Mahindra & Mahindra where in their two wheeler business will be aligned with its automotive and tractor administration. This statement comes just days after the company announced that the truck and bus business, will be merged with its tractor and UV business.
These amalgamations come at a time when Anoop Mathur, President of M&M’s Two Wheeler Division and member of Group Executive Board will be retiring on 31st March 2013. His place will be taken by Rajesh Jejurikar who assumes office from 1st April 2014. Earlier Chief Executive – Tractor & Farm Mechanization, Jejurikar will take on charge of the Two Wheeler Division and will report to Executive Director and President of Automotive & Farm Equipments, Mr. Pawan Goenka.
Meanwhile in Mumbai, Mahindra has launched the all new Bolero Flat Bed Refresh, priced from Rs 5.45 lakh, ex-showroom. Powered by MDI engine that generates 63 hp and 195 Nm torque, the new vehicles also features Micro Hybrid technology which helps in achieving 13.86 kmpl mileage. Mahindra Two-Wheeler Business to move to AFS from April 2014
Mumbai, October 10, 2013: Mahindra today announced that subsequent to the retirement of Mr. Anoop Mathur, President Two-Wheeler Sector and Member of the Group Executive Board, on 31st March 2014, its Two-Wheeler business would move to the Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors (AFS), which is headed by Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director and President- AFS. This realignment would help the two-wheeler business take advantage of synergies with AFS across the value chain including R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and human capital.
Following this transition, with effect from 1st April 2014 Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive-Tractor & Farm Mechanization, will look after the Two-Wheeler business in addition to his current responsibility and will continue to report to Dr. Goenka.
Mahindra would like to acknowledge the significant contribution of Mr. Anoop Mathur, who has played a key role in building up the two-wheeler business since its formation in 2008 to its present state where it has presence in both the domestic scooter and motorcycle segments, and its products are being seeded in many international markets.
