Mahindra XUV500 SUV on test in Brazil: is it petrol XUV?
Mahindra and Mahindra, one of the leading vehicle manufacturers in India, is slowly expanding its horizon. The company first launched their XUV500 in September last…
Now the company is spotted testing its SUV XUV500 in Brazil. Mahindra XUV500 was noticed by a Sao Paulo resident who saw the vehicle in Tatui, Sao Paulo. This XUV500 is expected to be launched in Brazil later this year or early next year. Mahindra XUV500 will be on display at the Sao Paulo Auto Show after which it will enter dealers showrooms across Brazil.
For Brazilian markets Mahindras will be launching the XUV500 in a choice of three variants which are also available in India. These vehicles will not be manufactured at the Mahindra Plant in Manaus in partnership with Bramount as is seen with the Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio Pickup, but will be exported from India into Brazil.
Another interesting factor that plays with the launch of XUV500 in Brazil is that, diesel cars are not permitted to ply on Brazil roads. Instead the cars in Brazil are powered by flexible fuel (petrol and ethanol). This means that if Mahindra is to launch XUV500 in the Brazilian auto industry, they will have to power it with a flex fuel engine.
