Manchester United players receive keys to new Chevrolet vehicles. Captiva, Volt electric, Camaro and Corvette vehicles were handed over while driving and safety tips also followed at the handing over ceremony.
Following a new sponsorship deal with Manchester United last year, Chevrolet has offered players and staff new cars. The keys to these brand new vehicles were handed over while Corvette Racing driver Oliver Gavin offered driving tips to all players. Captiva, Volt electric, Camaro and Corvette vehicles were handed over while driving and safety tips also followed at the handing over ceremony.
Players and staff were accorded vehicles in the Chevrolet lineup which suited their lifestyles and tastes. Robin Van Persie selected a Captiva due to the fact that he was a family man with two children and hence needed a larger vehicle. The same Captiva model was also chosen by Alexander Buttnew who also preferred a larger vehicle for his family while Sam Johnstone and Nick Powell opted for the electric Volt. Wayne Rooney selected a Camaro Convertible and Patrice Evra chose a Camaro Coupe due to its shape and performance.
Chevrolet is the new Official Automotive Partners to Manchester United in an agreement signed in 2012. Besides this, for the 2014-15 season, official shirts will also bear the Chevrolet logo. Tonight,Â Manchester United take on Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Robin Van Persie spoke about his Captiva pick, “I have two children, so this car is really good for me â€“ it’s a family car. It looks very nice, itâ€™s a good car.â€ť Alexander Buttner had this to say about his Captiva. â€śItâ€™s a really nice car, itâ€™s big, I have a lot of family over from Holland so itâ€™s nice to have a lot of space when we go somewhere.â€ť
Modfielder Nick Powell picked an electric Volt and said, â€śIt feels different, itâ€™s a lot quieterâ€¦ It feels futuristic, especially with regards to saving energy.â€ť Wayne Rooney spoke about his Camaro Convertible, â€śItâ€™s great, it obviously looks great and Iâ€™m excited to drive it. I think when I saw them all together this was the one that suited me best, it looks nice and will drive well too. I chose a manual as I think itâ€™s great to get full use from a sports car.â€ť
Patrice Evra opted for the Camaro Coupe and said, â€śI like the shape of the car, itâ€™s fantastic. I just had my first drive and I was really surprised, it drives well and you can feel itâ€™s really powerful, Iâ€™m very happy.â€ť Michael Carrick picked a Corvette GS and said, â€śI used to have a Dodge Viper but havenâ€™t had a sports car for a while so this is a great opportunity for me. When I got the chance to have this Corvette I snapped their hand off!â€ť
Javier Hernandez picked a Corvette and said â€śI looked at the Camaro and the Corvette, but this is not too big, like me, we are quite similar!â€ť he said, â€śItâ€™s a very good car and I am very happy Chevrolet offered this to me.â€ť
