BharatBenz architect Marc Llistosella is new Head of Daimler Trucks Asia

Head of Daimler Trucks Asia, Dr. Albert Kirchmann (58) takes over as Chairman of Daimler Trucks Asia wef April 1, 2015 where he will consult and support the company’s strategic development. He continues to represent Daimler on the political level and at industry associations in Japan. He has worked with the company since 1984, and assumed his current position in June, 2009.

Marc Llistosella to become new Head of Daimler Trucks Asia

Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, Member of the Daimler Board of Management with responsibility for Daimler Trucks & Buses thanked Albert Kirchmann for his dedication in bringing Daimler Trucks in Asia forward. His growth strategy ‘Fuso 2015’ sustainably strengthened MFTBC’s competitiveness and made way for a Fuso model range that benefits customers in Japan and in export markets. Under his leadership, Asia business has grown successfully together under ‘Daimler Trucks Asia’.

Marc Llistosella (47), Head of Marketing, Sales & After-sales, Trucks Asia & Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) will take over as Head of Daimler Trucks Asia (Fuso and BharatBenz) wef April 1, 2015, and will report directly to Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard. He took over hsi current position on 1st June 2014. Llistosella has been at the forefront of DICV from a planning phase and went on to build the organisation, plant, and led development of BharatBenz products for the Indian CV market alongwith Fuso trucks for Asia and Africa markets.

Under Llistosella’s leadership, DICV has grown to be a fully established player in the Indian CV market in about 30 months. At present he heads Marketing, Sales & Aftersales-related areas of Daimler Trucks Asia and oversees DICV’s Indian operations. Erich Nesselhauf who took over as CEO and Managing Director, DICV from Llistosella on 1st June, 2014 continues to report directly to him. Earlier today, DICV announced its 20,000th locally produced truck at the Oragadam plant, India. The production milestone was reached in two and a half years after production of the first BharatBenz heavy-duty truck here. The 20,000 commercial vehicle is a BharatBenz 2523C tipper.

Dr. Kirchmann says Marc Llistosella firmly established the BharatBenz brand in the Indian commercial vehicle industry in a short time. His tailored product portfolio proves his deep understanding of the Asian truck industry and customer demands. he alongside Albert Kirchmann, is one of the architects of Daimler Trucks Asia.

Michael Kamper (49), Managing Director Trucks at Mercedes-Benz UK, will become new Head of Marketing, Sales & Customer Services Trucks Asia wef March 1, 2015.He has been with the company since 1995. Aforementioned changes have been decided by the Board of Management, Daimler AG, and are subject to approval by the Board of Directors and the Shareholder’s Meeting of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC).
