A CNG option of Alto 800 is also being offered. Alto 800 will have increased fuel efficiency to the tune of 22.74 kmpl which is a good 15% higher than its outgoing model and is looked to be a major attraction along with the fact that Alto 800 is being offered in a brand new design with improvements seen in its gear shift and additional cabin space.
Pricing of the new Alto 800 is expected in Rs.2.5 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh category however absence of a diesel variant might be a drawback. Alto 800 will be based on the same platform as the current generation Alto but with new body panels, and enhanced design while interiors are revised to include some high quality features and refreshed fabric trims on seating. Where its engine is concerned, the Alto 800 is expected to have a three cylinder 796 cc engine offering 48 bhp and 69 Nm torque. Alto 800 once launched will compete with Hyundai Eon, and Tata Nano.
